STAT E&M Coder™

STAT E&M Coder™

Description

"Physicians report that the program boosts their income by as much as 20 to 30 percent." - Medical Economics; 12/2/2005, Vol. 82 Issue 23

How about an app that will pay YOU money for a change?

Are you ready for the new aggressive RAC audits?

This easy-to-use interactive template finally makes the complex Evaluation & Management (E&M) coding rules work to the clinician's advantage and will pay for itself on the first day of use. Use it if you document and charge for office visits, consultation, hospital visits, emergency department encounters, hospital visits, nursing home visits, etc., STAT E&M™ is the gold standard tool recommended by coding professionals nationwide and is often used for internal E&M audits. Use either the 1995 or 1997 documentation format and any of 10 specialty exams.

STAT E&M Coder™ has been featured, twice, in Medical Economics cover stories as one of "The best programs for your handheld (March 2008)." Let this program teach you how to efficiently document and code E/M services once and for all.

Features:

Includes templates for the 10 organ-specific exams and 17 E&M visit types

Logical Medical Decisionmaking calculation

Private and government health plans are finding that office visits, consultations, inpatient visits etc. are a lucrative area for auditing and downcoding services retroactively. Some clinicians are vulnerable to retrospective coding audits due to insufficient documentation. Others routinely undercode their services, accepting significantly lower reimbursement for fear of being penalized in the future.

E&M coding is both a compliance and a revenue problem for most physician practices. Most clinicians tend to undercode established patient visits and overcode new patient visits (J Am Board Fam Prac. 2001; 14:184-192). Even determining the extent of the problem is going to be expensive. This tool may be used by Recovery Audit Contractors (RAC), however, no volume discount will be offered.

Learn to efficiently and effectively document and code E&M visits using the most sophisticated algorithm available.

Use STAT E&M LITE free of charge for new patient visits and consider upgrading to STAT E&M Coder for established visits as well as emergency department visits.

data won't stay erased

:
When I open the app, whether I've previously simply closed it, closed it from the dock or reset my iPhone, it still continues to retain data from one previous patient entered in Hospital - Initial, even after erasing that session over and over. The app works, but I have to throw this defaulted session away and reselect the visit type, even if my last session was the same as the one that I am now entering. For example, I may have finished entering data for an established office patient and some time later wish to do the same for another established office patient. When I start the app, it has defaulted back to the hospital - initial visit type with the data from this mysterious previous patient, whom I cannot even now remember. This makes the app rather clunky and is rather annoying. For the price that I paid, I expect considerably better performance. Although the app is valuable, I would probably not purchase this again, especially at such a high app price.
